Last night in Tel Aviv, hundreds of us stood in the street and said it plainly: this is Jewish terror, and it is not done in our name.

For a week now, settlers have rampaged through Palestinian villages across the West Bank. Homes raided. Nearly ten mosques torched. Livestock stolen. Families cut off from moving between their own communities. Lives taken. Then the army came, not for the attackers but for the attacked, storming villages and detaining hundreds.

The Talmud does not let us look away from this. Whoever can protest a wrong and stays silent bears it as their own, and the duty does not stop at your household or your town. It runs to the whole world (Shabbat 54b). Silence is a choice the tradition refuses to excuse.

So we did not stay home. We came out, as Jews, in our own names, against violence carried out in the name of a Judaism we do not recognize.

You do not need to be in Tel Aviv to refuse silence. Wherever you are, name this out loud.

I hope more Israelis will join you. I wonder why they're so reluctant to judge these settler attacks but I know a lot has to do with the framing of the IDF and the government Ben- Gvir in particular. In the Israeli media they portray the events as terror attacks by Palestinians while those same Palestinians want to live quietly and peacefully. The true terror is inflicted by the settler movement and accompanying soldiers/ armed civilians.

But saying “we can’t do anything” is not entirely true — there are things we can do, even if they seem small, they make a difference:

1. Prayers – Sincere prayers are never in vain. They are our most powerful tool.

2. Raise your voice – Spread awareness on social media, share accurate information, and speak up for the oppressed.

3. Charity & Donations – Support trusted organizations with financial aid, food, or medical assistance.

4. Boycott – Stop supporting brands and companies that fuel injustice. Consumer power matters.

5. Education & Awareness – Tell the truth to those around you, and teach children the values of justice, peace, and humanity.

Your sorrow shows your humanity. Don’t let it die — turn it into positive The Arabic phrase "أَلَا إِنَّ نَصْرَ اللَّهِ قَرِيبٌ" (ala inna nasrallahi qareeb) translates to "Indeed, the help of Allah is near". It is a verse from the Quran, specifically Surah Al-Baqarah (2:214). This phrase is often used to offer encouragement and hope, reminding believers that Allah's assistance is close at hand, even in difficult times.Our hearts, prayers, and voices are with every soul in Gaza. Even though we are far, please know that we are watching, grieving, and standing in unwavering solidarity with you. The world sees the unbearable pain you endure, the strength you show every single day, and the dignity with which you hold on to life, family, and faith — even amidst the destruction, loss, and isolation.
