In a rare, candid conversation, Abby Martin interviews a former Israeli Army combat soldier who served as an occupier in Palestine’s Hebron City. Eran Efrati spent years as a sergeant and combat soldier in the Israeli military, but has since become an outspoken critic of the occupation of Palestine and Israeli apartheid.

Efrati gives explosive testimony on the reality of his service and explains how war crimes are institutionalized, as well as how systematic the oppression against Palestinians really is in a war of conquest that will no-doubt be accelerated under the Trump Administration.

  • 'Never Again'

<한국어>

<Breaking the Silence

<English>

The most balanced reading is this:

<Eran Efrati is probably strongest when he describes the lived mechanics of occupation in Hebron, and weakest when he turns those experiences into totalizing political conclusions.>

What is likely reliable:

  • Hebron has long been documented as a highly segregated and tightly controlled urban space, where a small settler presence is protected through broad restrictions on a much larger Palestinian population.
  • Differential legal and administrative treatment of settlers and Palestinians in the West Bank is widely documented by Israeli and international human-rights reporting.
  • Night raids, home invasions, and intrusive “routine security” practices are not unique claims from one man; they fit a broader body of former-soldier testimony, including multiple Breaking the Silence Hebron publications and its 2020 report on home invasions.

What is more interpretive or overstated:

  • Claims that the entire system’s sole purpose is ethnic cleansing, or that executionist logic defines everything, go beyond what one testimony can prove.
  • Statements implying that resistance is justified “by any means” are not factual findings but moral-political arguments.
  • His historical comments on Zionism and Mizrahi/Arab Jewish migration are more like activist interpretation than careful historical synthesis.

On <Breaking the Silence> more broadly: it began in 2004 with veterans, especially from Hebron, seeking to expose the everyday reality of military rule in the occupied territories. Its strength is not that it acts like a court, but that it functions as a whistleblower archive that preserves patterns otherwise easy to normalize or deny. Its weakness is also clear: many testimonies are anonymous, verification is uneven from case to case, and critics argue that the group foregrounds the most sensational examples and internationalizes them politically. Those criticisms are real, and the organization has faced sustained pressure from Israeli officials for exactly those reasons.

So the fairest conclusion is:

<Use Efrati and Breaking the Silence as strong evidence about recurring practices and moral injury inside the occupation system, but do not treat every sweeping conclusion they draw as automatically proven.>

5:425 minutes, 42 secondsknow I I realize now in P in perspective it got to do something with the fact that I have my boots on my uniform my helmet uh my six packs of ammunition my
5:515 minutes, 51 secondstwo hand grenades my M16 in my hand but I didn't realize that at the time and I and I really couldn't understand that um
6:006 minutesand I think in a very rapid paste I realize that my job is actually to
6:066 minutes, 6 secondsmaintain an aparte system very uh very early on I understood that the rights that the Jewish settlers have are not
6:156 minutes, 15 secondsthe rights that the Palestinians have I understood that I cannot touch a Jewish settler if he is attacking a Palestinian the best I can do is call a local police
6:236 minutes, 23 secondsdepartment to come handle it like I would do at home in Jerusalem so these Jewish settlers that live in Kon are living under the same rights that I live
6:316 minutes, 31 secondsin in Jerusalem but the Palestinian next to them next house over next building over sometimes next apartment over lives
6:386 minutes, 38 secondsunder my rule my military rule and I can do whatever I want with him I can take his home as a temporary base for a few
6:476 minutes, 47 secondshours to a few days to a few weeks I can decide that I'm arresting the people of the house and tying them up to defense of my
6:556 minutes, 55 secondsbase um if you will get in order to demolish their home or just lock their front door and don't let them out into
7:027 minutes, 2 secondsthe street their house is on a street that only Jewish settlers can walk on and Palestinian cannot so they have to
7:097 minutes, 9 secondswalk through Windows to yards into the other side into the kaso of Kon I think realizing all of that in a very very
7:187 minutes, 18 secondsearly stage in my service helped me understood that someone was lying to me along the way I
7:267 minutes, 26 secondsdidn't feel like I'm protecting anyone I didn't feel like I'm help helping anyone feeling more safe I feel like I'm terrorizing people I feel like for the
7:347 minutes, 34 secondsfirst time in my life the boundaries between good and bad that I learned as a kid and obviously I learned that I'm on the good side uh was broken I felt like
7:447 minutes, 44 secondsI am the terrorist and my job was literally to scare people so they cannot think about acting against the Israeli
7:537 minutes, 53 secondssettlers or the is military that was actually our defined mission to make sure that to instill fear in the hearts
8:018 minutes, 1 secondof Palestinians in Kon and that's exactly what we did I think heon is a really um intense
8:088 minutes, 8 secondsexample of of apartheid obviously like you just said the settlements in the middle of the city it's extremely visible you have the cage streets the
8:158 minutes, 15 secondsghost town it's it's horrifying why did you speak up and why did you do what you did knowing that you would suffer such
8:248 minutes, 24 secondsrepercussions and potentially be banned from returning back to your country
8:318 minutes, 31 secondsum well growing up in Israel like I said I believe that I was the good guy I mean
8:388 minutes, 38 secondsthe story that all of us are being told all around the world is that the the very clear difference between good and
8:458 minutes, 45 secondsbad people are there you learn about the Holocaust growing up I saw my grandma screaming in the middle of the night
8:538 minutes, 53 secondsmemories from aitz in our mind memories to our family um I knew knew that I am going to
9:009 minutesbe a good human being you know in the age of uh 15 16 I began being almost
9:079 minutes, 7 secondsobsessed with trying to understand the Nazi side in the Holocaust uh not only to hear the stories of the victims of
9:169 minutes, 16 secondsthe Jewish victims and any other victims from the Holocaust but to try to understand how can a uh Nazi soldiers
9:239 minutes, 23 secondsget up in the morning give his kids a kiss his wife a hug and go out to the camps and do his job I just couldn't
9:309 minutes, 30 secondsunderstand that and when I got into the occupied territories uh for the first time I understood how can there be a
9:399 minutes, 39 secondscontradiction inside yourself as a human being you could do your job and be a one person at home be a loving caring uh you
9:489 minutes, 48 secondsknow boyfriend or a son or brother and in the same time hold people under a
9:559 minutes, 55 secondsregime so oppressed that people are dying not from only your bullets but the
10:0110 minutes, 1 secondamount of calories uh being entered into their territory like in Gaza from depression or
10:0910 minutes, 9 secondssickness uh this realization during my time as a soldier uh of me on the right
10:1710 minutes, 17 secondsside of History gave me this urge that something have to be done something have to be spoken understanding that nothing
10:2510 minutes, 25 secondsis really changing from inside that you have to step outside and start start talking with the world about what's going on uh and that's the only way you
10:3410 minutes, 34 secondscan live in a place not only for Palestinians but for me as well you know I don't want to live in an ethnocracy I don't want to live in an only Jewish
10:4110 minutes, 41 secondsstate that values a privileged Jewish life on every other life this urges me
10:4910 minutes, 49 secondsto understand that I want a my kids to grow up in a place when they don't have to oppress anyone they don't have to be soldiers uh I guess that's what pushed
10:5810 minutes, 58 secondsme to do what I'm doing your Humanity let's talk about your time um after getting out of the military and
11:0511 minutes, 5 secondsthen you went through a series uh through the West Bank interviewing soldiers getting their testimony talk about some of your experiences there
11:1211 minutes, 12 secondsthat cemented your belief system now and um open your mind a little bit more I think after I left the military I was
11:2011 minutes, 20 secondsstill under the impression that the things that I was going through or my personal uh experience I understood that
11:2811 minutes, 28 secondsI do not believe in the things that I was doing I understood that I was lied to but I still didn't had the conviction
11:3611 minutes, 36 secondsthat what we're doing is on a large scale and leing the military and starting interviewing soldiers uh really
11:4411 minutes, 44 secondsI think made me understand that there's a systematic oppression uh that is taking place in the occupied territories Iran let's talk
11:5311 minutes, 53 secondsabout El Rosaria the soldier who just got convicted of manslaughter he executed an unarmed Palestinian man
12:0012 minuteslaying in the street of course in Hebron on camera uh Israel of course is touting this as accountability right Justice uh
12:0912 minutes, 9 secondswhat is your reaction to the verdict and yeah just your the case in general I think the aora zarya case had to be
12:1712 minutes, 17 secondsunderstand by a few contexts the first one is the context of uh Israeli military practice of executions and
12:2512 minutes, 25 secondstargeted killing and also confirming a kill what the learya did on the Palestinian in K are all practices that
12:3312 minutes, 33 secondsare alive in the military system in the even police system or mad it's illegal to continue to do an execution it's the
12:4112 minutes, 41 secondsmiddle of the previous decade in the 2000s but then something very interesting start um I am in my previous role as a
12:4912 minutes, 49 secondsresearcher into the Israel military are taking testimonies from many soldiers uh and one of the soldiers I'm reaching to
12:5712 minutes, 57 secondsis a soldier from semi- Elite unit called in Hebrew duv Dean Cherry in English and he's telling me a story
13:0413 minutes, 4 secondsabout how uh he serving after this role from the after this new rule from the Supreme Court has been mandate and they
13:1213 minutes, 12 secondscannot do targeting killing anymore and how their officer is gathering the unit together and tell them we're going to go
13:2013 minutes, 20 secondsout tonight to capture this person is highly dangerous what we're going to do is we're going to come in five or six people's unit into their home home in
13:2913 minutes, 29 secondsthe middle of the night break in quietly go up to his bedroom go into his bed and put a gun into his head now if he just
13:3913 minutes, 39 secondswake up and surrender we're taking him into the base but if he scream you should him in the head if he lift his
13:4713 minutes, 47 secondsblanket you shoot him in the head if he lifts his hands or legs or trying to do any movement you shoot him in the head
13:5413 minutes, 54 secondsnow because we understand as rational human beings that no human being can wake up in the middle of of the night with a gun into his head and not scream
14:0214 minutes, 2 secondsor move we understand this orders as an execution orders that bypass the supreme court order uh and instead of saying
14:1014 minutes, 10 secondswe're going to execute this person they're saying we're going to arrest this person but if we feel there's some kind of danger maybe he have a gun in his bed maybe he will scream for help we
14:1914 minutes, 19 secondsexecute him so execution is something that is very much alive I continue to interview dozens of this Cherry unit that tells the same story about
14:2814 minutes, 28 secondsdifferent cases but the same exact practice in the occupied territories they knew that this is what they're supposed to do they knew that they were
14:3514 minutes, 35 secondsgoing into homes in the middle of the night to execute people in October 2015 the latest intifa is starting and even
14:4314 minutes, 43 secondsthe official roles of not executing human beings are going off the window from the Prime Minister into ministers
14:5214 minutes, 52 secondsinto media people everybody is talking about it from left to right about you shoot to kill if you see a girl with
14:5914 minutes, 59 secondsscissors next to you you shoot to kill executions are very much alive in the Israeli uh uh military the Israeli
15:0715 minutes, 7 secondspolice the Israeli discourse people are calling for executions people are calling for not only executions on you know what they call terrorist or
15:1615 minutes, 16 secondsresistant uh uh people Palestinians that are running at you but they're calling for
15:2215 minutes, 22 secondsRevenge um and when theorya doing what he does he doing it after heard that
15:3015 minutes, 30 secondsthis specific order of executions every what they call a terrorist from every section of the Israel Society we
15:3815 minutes, 38 secondswouldn't be talking about El oari if the execution wasn't on film let's be honest I mean like you said this is this is commonplace this is systematic it's
15:4715 minutes, 47 secondsinstitutionalized however I I I do want to talk about how even before he was charged with manslaughter it was a slap on the wrist at the beginning I don't
15:5515 minutes, 55 secondsknow if there was just International pressure that that mounted at a certain point where they felt like they had to take the investigation forward but even then it was a very stark contrast
16:0316 minutes, 3 secondsbetween how right-wing Israelis reacted to just a house arrest verdict um than let's say people hear when a police
16:1116 minutes, 11 secondsofficer shoots and executes an unarmed black man and and usually you have protests in the street against the police trying to get accountability
16:1816 minutes, 18 secondsthere in Israel it seemed like there was mass rallies in support of alaria you know of course it's not
16:2516 minutes, 25 secondssurprising Israel is selling this idea of the soldiers are more important than anything the soldiers are more important
16:3316 minutes, 33 secondsthan the life of Palestinians not only the life of soldiers the soldiers identity uh you know security feelings
16:4016 minutes, 40 secondsare more important than a Palestinian life the easiness uh the comfortable of people going out to the street and defending
16:5016 minutes, 50 secondsevery case of mans slaughtering that was captured on tape that is clear that his
16:5616 minutes, 56 secondslife is not in danger you know that contradict everything that we are being told and yet Israelis are saying in a
17:0517 minutes, 5 secondsvery clear voice not only that we don't believe in that not only that we will oppress Palestinian and will act as much
17:1317 minutes, 13 secondsas you know do whatever we want but in a very specific way saying don't uh confuse us with idea of moral or right
17:2317 minutes, 23 secondsor wrong whatever soldiers do in the occupied territories are right whatever we're doing is the correct thing I
17:3117 minutes, 31 secondswanted you to talk specifically about the culture within the Israeli military that Fosters anti-arab sentiment and
17:3817 minutes, 38 secondsracism essentially yes so I think the system you know is not only inside the
17:4517 minutes, 45 secondsmilitary it's it's like like I said before that's actually what being an Israeli means being an Israeli growing
17:5317 minutes, 53 secondsup in the Israeli educational departments you understand that all the the Arabs hates you that they're
18:0018 minutesactually in a way the conation of the biblical Amal or uh or Hitler you know
18:0818 minutes, 8 secondsthat everybody there want to throw you into the sea this is what you're growing up with and you really believe in that I mean going into the military you're
18:1618 minutes, 16 secondsalready going so full of hate and fear at the same time that you don't need
18:2318 minutes, 23 secondsmuch to be uh very aggressive violent and and racist toward Palestinians they see the Palestinian women and the
18:3118 minutes, 31 secondsPalestinian men as subhuman uh the occupied territories are like an ex territory when those human
18:4018 minutes, 40 secondsbeings are not considered to be human beings this is a process that you're starting a very early age being enforced inside your boot camp and later on when
18:4918 minutes, 49 secondsyou're going into your service when you do not see human beings in front of you do not believe their sorrow do not believe their smiles do not believe
18:5818 minutes, 58 secondstheir feelings they are subhuman but they look just like you I mean there's so many Arab Jews it's
19:0619 minutes, 6 secondsincredible like yourself yeah and I think that the the Arab Jews in Israel are probably the most tragic story in
19:1319 minutes, 13 secondsthe entire story of Zionism after the Palestinians you know and it's not being talked enough obviously inside Israel Society or in the world the MRA Jew the
19:2319 minutes, 23 secondsArab Jews that came around the years of 50 and onward into Israel uh some came
19:3119 minutes, 31 secondsby choice came by some came by force but they didn't came to a count that was theirs came only about two years after
19:3819 minutes, 38 secondsIsrael was already gave out most most of the land into the European people and they understood that they cannot hold the territory alone they need more
19:4719 minutes, 47 secondspeople on the ground to fight off Palestinians or Palestinian refugees if they will come back and then they went off and brought most of the Arab Jews
19:5519 minutes, 55 secondsand put them in the most terrible places in Israel on the borders on the borders with Egypt or Jordan or Lebanon and
20:0320 minutes, 3 secondsSyria we put them at buffer zones to protect us from Palestinians some of them came in the Sens uh the Zionist
20:1220 minutes, 12 secondsorganizations sends delegations into this Arab countries uh and called the Jews there to come into Israel the Jewish homeland many of them didn't want
20:2020 minutes, 20 secondsto many of them like in Iraq or Egypt had a good life or in Morocco and wanted to stay they didn't know what will be the destiny of this new country that
20:2920 minutes, 29 secondsunderstood that there's very much likely that a lot of Wars will go on there they felt protected in those countries and they said no and the Zionist
20:3620 minutes, 36 secondsorganizations send another delegations into some of these countries of people Desy as Arabs from those countries that
20:4420 minutes, 44 secondsterrorize those people to try to force them to come into Israel they were born synagogues we have testimonies today that talks about how they ran after
20:5320 minutes, 53 secondspeople in the street and beat them down as so-called Arabs from Morocco from from uh Egypt or Iraq trying to scare
21:0121 minutes, 1 secondthem and immediately after that more people from the Zionist movement would come and say you see the only safe place you have is Israel you have to come now
21:0921 minutes, 9 secondsand after they came they were being sent into the most uh uh disgusting forms of
21:1621 minutes, 16 secondsuh settlement for the newcomers from those Arab countries being spray from
21:2221 minutes, 22 secondsDDT uh with with uh gas trying to clean them up before the joining into the uh
21:3021 minutes, 30 secondsashkanazi the European kids to play with them they were separated and segregated for years that was not their country and
21:3721 minutes, 37 secondsit's still not their country and what they had to do to start to assimilate thems inside this new country was to make sure that everybody understood that
21:4521 minutes, 45 secondsthey're actually not Arabs they look like Arabs they talk Arabic but they're not Arabs they're Jewish because you can be an American Jew and you can be a
21:5221 minutes, 52 secondsEuropean Jew but you cannot be an Arab Jew in Israel and they erase their identity
21:5921 minutes, 59 secondsand they starting to form what we know today as the most extreme right in Israel they are the extreme right
22:0522 minutes, 5 secondsbecause they have to solidify themsel as the most loyal citizens of the States you hear this as a cycle of violence
22:1322 minutes, 13 secondsthough and every time I bring up you know especially being on the ground in the West Bank visiting the dapa family or who's left of it um you know whenever
22:2122 minutes, 21 secondsyou bring up these these horrifying stories and accounts of Terror on behalf of the Israeli settlers a lot of people just say what about the
22:2822 minutes, 28 secondsstabbing attacks what about you know what about the terrorist attacks on behalf of Palestinians and it's painted as a as a equal fight as a cycle of
22:3722 minutes, 37 secondsviolence and then you have um the the truck attack that just happened in Jerusalem as a former Soldier how do you view these attacks how do you view the
22:4522 minutes, 45 secondsstabbings especially when they are directed at soldiers well as an ex Soldier uh I
22:5322 minutes, 53 secondslearned very personally that if you will not respect exist and you can expect
23:0123 minutes, 1 secondresistance and this is how people resist uh Israel as a state like to use the the
23:1023 minutes, 10 secondsidea that Palestinians only understand force or power but the truth of the matter is that Israelis only understand
23:1823 minutes, 18 secondspower and force every other attempt from Palestinians to try to negotiate this situation in a diplomatic way was uh
23:2723 minutes, 27 secondscounter by more attacks more oppression uh and more occupation more stealing of the land more destroying of homes more
23:3723 minutes, 37 secondssettlements being built we decided to call uh going into the UN a diplomatic terrorism and to go into the IC uh you
23:4623 minutes, 46 secondsknow International terrorism we basically describe every form of resistant as terrorism because the sole
23:5523 minutes, 55 secondsidea of the occupation is is not to be safe the sole idea is to create an ethnically cleansed
24:0524 minutes, 5 secondsuh piece of land only for Jewish people with Palestinian workers of course some Palestinians can stay and do stuff for
24:1224 minutes, 12 secondsus but this is our land what people maybe don't understand is that Israel is creating the conditions
24:2024 minutes, 20 secondsin uh the situation of constantly having to protect yourself we're creating this
24:2724 minutes, 27 secondssituation by oppressive oppressing millions of people into do a a phase
24:3424 minutes, 34 secondswell they have no other choice by resist so many of these people lost a family member uh had been to prison or lost
24:4324 minutes, 43 secondssomeone in prison and understood that nothing could be changed because the truth is that Israel do not hear the
24:5124 minutes, 51 secondsdiplomacy Israel do not hear the call of Palestinian for equality what we are seeing in Palestine is what a lot of
24:5824 minutes, 58 secondspeople like to describe as the most uh complicated political situation of our time is probably the most simple uh
25:0625 minutes, 6 secondssituation political situation over time it's a situation about equality it's amazing that you say that Iran because this is painted as the most complex the
25:1425 minutes, 14 secondsmost hard to solve uh they've been fighting over there for thousands of years you know you hear these these things but really it really does come
25:2325 minutes, 23 secondsdown to basic equality in humanity um would you say that you support support the right of Palestinians to fight their
25:3025 minutes, 30 secondsoccupiers absolutely I support the right of every human being uh under an oppressive military rule to resist this
25:3925 minutes, 39 secondsmilitary rule by any mean uh possible uh I do not believe that Israel have a right to occupy millions of human beings
25:4725 minutes, 47 secondswithout every decent uh human simple basic human rights uh for the name and I
25:5425 minutes, 54 secondsdo not believe that Israel would change on its own at no point in history there was a a state or a power that had the
26:0226 minutes, 2 secondspower to control over other human beings and benefit from it and just decided to let go of this power by its own it was
26:1026 minutes, 10 secondsalways forced on them by the resistance of the people underneath them all the intervention of other forces around the
26:1626 minutes, 16 secondsworld and unfortunately uh I as I do support the Palestinian right to resist in any way I do not believe that their
26:2326 minutes, 23 secondsresistance is enough I do believe that the rest of the world have to interfere and what's going on in Palestine there's
26:3026 minutes, 30 secondsnothing else that we can do except for giving all the Palestinians equal rights and starting a new state a new uh
26:4026 minutes, 40 secondsequality system for all human beings on the ground

That's what's most shocking. It makes the 6m deaths during the Holocaust meaningless. Tragic that Israel has learned nothing from that ugliness.

This is excellent!! I recently purchased No Home for Jewish Liberals and I'm looking forward to reading it. It seems that "liberals" in Israel - and the States - are often looked down upon simply because they care about human rights.

@RiRi-ku6xz   Exactly!!   Most people taking stances on this know nothing about the situation.  I've been reading etc. about this for a good while, so I think I now have a good basis of knowledge about both sides of this long-time nightmare.  In 1926 97% of Palestine was owned by Palestinians, yet that Moslem cleric in the comments is stating that the "Jews should just take it." The big problem is the British promised the Arabs of the Levant self-rule - if they helped bring down the Ottoman Empire. Even "Lawrence of Arabia" learned before the end that the Arabs were NOT going to be able to rule themselves.  😢

Palestinians have many religious backgrounds, not only Muslim. + this isn’t a religious conflict. It’s Zionist ultranationalism hiding behind Judaism. The same way KKK hid behind Christianity and ISIS hides behind Islam. This concerns all humans from all ethnic/ religious backgrounds.

@shirazismail786  as a usa taxpayer that paid more than trump id prefer all aid to Israel end immediately. We pay for their universal healthcare,  and education. But we dont have that for us common folks. When will usa rise up against the corporate machine? Never because most of us are brainwashed from birth.

@dustins.5940 we American taxpayers not only pay for their Healthcare and their education, but who do you think probably pays for all those settlements being built? And I'm almost positive they pay the settlers money to come live over there because nobody in the right mind is going to pay money out of their own pocket to go live in a war zone. Most settlers aren't even from that region, they're from USA and Europe. Most likely loser bums that went to college for 8 years and living with their parents and don't want to work. So they find out they can go live as a settler in Israel and get free healthcare and monthly checks if they're willing to live in the settlement areas. And I'm sure we Americans foot that bill too

why arent they interviewing YOU?
who is he, Just some Soldier ......who are you just some palestanian.
why not interview me, her, them? why him, who is he?
shill, gatekeeper, enabler? distraction, ......is he an organizer?  a teacher ?

More than 15000 confirmed killed, thousands are still under the rubble, more than 46000 injured and the type of injuries we're talking about include amputation of limbs, severe burns etc. I saw a toddler in diapers with both legs amputated and I just cry every time I remember his photo and my heart is broken and all that for what?

Yes, many Armenians came to our country, Palestine, more than a hundred years ago to escape the destruction that befell them.
Some of them still live among us now and have become Palestinians
In fact, we were and still are welcoming everyone to our country, including the Jews, but Zionism has ruined this for everyone.

It must be incredibly difficult to honestly believe deep down in your heart that you're one of the 'good guys' doing your very best for justice and fighting an evil enemy, only to find out that you've been lied too, brainwashed into being the exact opposite of that feeding an oppressive, murderous, greed machine. I commend this man for having the intelligence to rationalise and realise what was really happening, and despite the potential consequences, to stand up, show that he has a spine and a mind of his own and do the right thing.

I'm not a Jew, am Asian and Muslim and even I obsessed about the Holocaust, I couldn't understand how human beings could commit such atrocities. I could understand also Jews' longing for a safe place. But again, when Israel and Nakba happened, I couldn't understand how a people who have suffered so much could metamorphosed into the oppressors. So glad to see men like this speaking up and acting according to their conscience. They are so brave and I applaud them.

Not the Jewish people.
The fault lies with the zionist Jews, as the vast majority of Jews, worldwide, are not zionists.
It just happens the Israhelli govt have always been zionists, therefore have the means to indoctrinate most of those living there to their way of thinking.
Israel has it's fair share of decent folk in the form of dissidents and consciencious objectors, who refused to serve in the IDF.
The state is not as united as they'd have the world believe.

Thank you Abby Martin for the courage to expose the extent to which the public is manipulted, lied to, and otherwise misled by the leaders it elects.
The role of mainstream media is also depressing and I am grateful for people like yourself with the courage to reveal how we are mentally colonised and occupied by our own governments and media. Stay safe and please continue the great journalism.

This video should be shared on a wide scale it's an absolute eye opener that confirmed many things I thought before...question here is how the international community have turned a blind eye to all of this while acting so firmly on the human rights notion when it comes to other minor issues?!!! That's absolutely horrific to just hear about let alone witnessing it first hand

Imagine having to show ID literally every time you arrive and leave your house. Repeatedly to sometimes the same soldiers who probably see you every day. The redundancy, meaninglessness, the humiliation. That’s what happens to some Palestinians who have a checkpoint right in front of where they live.
