5.0 out of 5 stars Great insight into the Israeli apartheid government from an Israeli perspective

More and more like minded Jews are coming out in harsh criticism of the Israeli governments brutal occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip as well as the numerous human rights violations that occur on a daily basis against the Palestinians. Israel has been pushing an image of a "democracy" for quite some time- this is a complete charade. It is a racist government, determined to complete what the early Zionists titled the "soft transfer". The "Soft Transfer" ideology was premised on making life for the Palestinian so miserable that they would voluntarily leave, as ethnic cleansing these days is just not very PC.

This is a brave book, written by a brave man. I read the bad reviews and it is obvious they are written by uninformed racists.

Mr. J. Robbins
5.0 out of 5 stars The best book about the current mechanisms of occupation.

If you want a book about the mechanisms underlying the Occupation, then this is a good book. You only get brief details of the history, but if you're interested in the ways Israel discriminates against the Palestinians today, in the State of Israel and the oPT, this is a great book. These details are missing from other books on the Israel Palestine issue. This book coupled with "Beyond Chutzpah", by Norman Finkelstein, and "The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine", by Ilan Pappe, make an excellent introduction to the subject.

5.0 out of 5 stars Painful

This is the hardest-hitting book I have yet read about the conflict in Israel/Palestine. Jeff Halper pulls none of the many punches he throws at the disaster that Zionism has been for everyone in I/P. I have heard Jeff Halper in person, two of those settings were in small groups with plenty of time to ask questions etc. So, as I read the book, I could remember his particular way of speaking the truth (as he sees it) rather bluntly.
